Cool Runnings Track and Field Club is a year round training program that was created in 2005 to train young people in the fundamentals of track and field. The goal is to train athletes who are truly interested in putting forth their best who will learn to love track & field and help them achieve success as they grow to become great athletes in the future.
Cool Runnings is coached by two-time NCAA Division II National Champion, Arthemon Sindayigaya. Our assistant coaches are Ruthie Swedlund and Jon Bos. Coach Ruthie also trains adults who wish to train for half-marathons and marathons. Coach Jon trains our athletes who are interested in throwing events.
During the fall months our focus is Cross Country. The rest of the year we focus on Track and Field. We practice at Elmer Gray Stadium on the Abilene Christian University campus. Our cost is $50 per month per athlete. See our website (www.coolrunningstrack.com) for practice time information.
We pay annual fees and register with USATF (USA Track and Field) and TAAF (Texas Amateur Athletic Federation) and compete in track meets with these associations.
